Abstract

This article examines the role and significance of women’s labor in the process
of socialist transformation of agriculture in Uzbekistan during the 1920s–1930s. Based on archival
sources and official documents, the study analyzes the impact of collectivization policies on the
economic, social, and political activity of Uzbek rural women. The paper explores women’s
participation in collective and state farms, the establishment of training courses and educational
institutions for women, and the role of trade unions in improving their professional skills. Special
attention is given to the introduction of the principle of “equal pay for equal work” and its influence
on women’s economic independence.
