CENTRAL ASIAN TOURISM AT THE END OF THE 20TH - BEGINNING OF THE 21ST CENTURY (on the example of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan)

This article discusses the establishment of the national tourism industry in
Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan in 1991-2016, the mportance of organizing international events and
forums to promote their tourism products and brands in the world of tourism, the development of
the tourism industry. The impact of political ties and strict visa policy, the factors that hinder the
development of the industry in the region, the problems are analyzed in detail. The positive impact
and results of visa facilitation, elimination of various formalities and the gradual introduction of
sectoral innovations and benefits in the expansion and rapid development of cooperation in
tourism in Central Asia in 2017-2021 are covered on the basis of statistics. Problems in the field
of tourism during the pandemic, joint projects of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan in overcoming the
crisis and recovery of the industry, issues, prospects and problems of new cooperation were
analyzed.
