THE ROLE OF MULTIMEDIA TECHNOLOGIES IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF DIGITAL COMPETENCIES IN STUDENTS OF HIGHER EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS AND THE RELEVANCE OF THEIR TRAINING

Abstract

This article analyzes the role, importance and necessity of multimedia
technologies in the process of developing digital competencies in students of higher education
institutions on a scientific basis. In the conditions of the modern digital economy, students'
competencies in working with information, creating visual content, didactic use of media
resources, mastering software tools and evaluating media products are one of the important
indicators of the quality of education. The study examines the didactic capabilities of multimedia
technologies - visualization, interactivity, adaptability, multimodal presentation and support for
creative thinking. It also analyzes the problems encountered in the formation of multimedia
literacy in Uzbek universities, the insufficient qualification of teachers, the level of provision of
technical means and the differences between methodological approaches. The results of the study
show that the educational process based on multimedia technologies significantly increases
students' digital competencies, develops their independent learning, creative approach and critical
thinking skills. The article describes the relevance of multimedia teaching and practical
methodological solutions proposed for higher education institutions.
