Abstract

The article analyzes the potential of traditional approaches (science clubs,
laboratory practice, preparation for Olympiads and conferences) and innovative approaches
(virtual laboratories, project-based learning, distance learning platforms, augmented and virtual reality) in organizing extracurricular physics activities under contemporary educational trends.
The strengths and weaknesses of these approaches are compared, and it is argued that their
integration effectively promotes students’ interest in science, research competencies, practical
experimental skills, and digital literacy. The paper also provides practical recommendations for
implementing a hybrid (traditional and digital) model, criteria for evaluating the effectiveness of
extracurricular activities, and discusses methodological and organizational challenges that may
arise during the integration process.
