Since ancient times, the Mongol tribes have led a nomadic lifestyle, living in
vast pastures, divided into clans and tribes. Although these clans and tribes did not unite into a
single nation, living scattered, they actively participated in the ethnogenesis of many peoples. In
the Middle Ages, the Mongol tribes, which were part of a number of kingdoms, founded a huge
empire under the leadership of Genghis Khan at the beginning of the 13th century AD. For the
first time in history, the Mongol clans and tribes were united into a single state. The Mongols led
by Genghis Khan also entered and settled in the Transoxiana and adjacent regions, and, like a
number of other peoples, they actively participated in the ethnogenesis of the Uzbek people
