Abstract

The article reveals the essence of the phenomenon of motivation of cognitive activity of students in the process of self-education. Various approaches to the problem of cognitive independence are analyzed, characteristics of components, factors, and criteria for assessing the level of formation of cognitive activity motives in the process of students’ self-education are given.
