Abstract

This article examines the territorial distribution, numerical dynamics, and
settlement patterns of the Kyrgyz ethnic group, one of the widely represented ethnic communities
of the Jizzakh oasis, on the basis of statistical and historical-ethnographic sources. The study
analyzes the clan-tribal composition of the Kyrgyz population and the historical processes through
which it has formed as a diaspora on the territory of Uzbekistan. Drawing on official statistical
data, field-research materials, and the findings of prior scholarship, the author presents
scientifically grounded conclusions regarding the ethnodemographic characteristics of the Kyrgyz
population of the Jizzakh oasis
