Abstract

This article focuses on a comprehensive analysis of functional and lexical
changes in the modern Russian language. Particular attention is given to borrowings, neologisms,
and archaisms, examined in terms of their origins, functions, and impact on the structure of the
lexical system. The research is grounded in lexicological, sociolinguistic, and historical-
grammatical approaches. The relevance of the study is determined by the need for a scientific
understanding of lexical dynamics in the context of globalization and digital transformation. The
findings may be applied in theoretical and applied linguistics, as well as in language education.
