Abstract

This article explores the importance of laboratory activities in modern science

education as a tool to develop students' scientific thinking, research skills, and independent

reasoning. It analyzes the “K-12 Science Education Framework” and “Next Generation Science

Standards (NGSS)” developed in the USA, focusing on three core components: Scientific and

Engineering Practices (SEP), Crosscutting Concepts (CC), and Disciplinary Core Ideas (DCI),

highlighting their role in fostering deep understanding and interdisciplinary thinking among
