Abstract

This article covers the life and tragic fate of Fayzulla Khojayev and Akmal
Ikromov, state and public figures who played an important role in the political history of
Uzbekistan in the 1930s. The article analyzes their activities in state administration, their efforts
towards reforms, the process of political repressions during the Soviet era, and their unjustified
accusations of being “enemies of the people.” The process of acquittal and the restoration of
historical truth in the 1950s-60s are also considered
