PSYCHOLOGICAL ASPECTS OF APPEARANCE SATISFACTION IN WOMEN OF MATURE AGE

Abstract

This article analyzes the psychological aspects of appearance satisfaction in
women of mature age. The study examines the influence of psychological factors such as body
image, self-esteem, emotional stability, social comparison, and social support on the level of
appearance satisfaction based on scientific and theoretical sources. In addition, within the
framework of objectification theory, women’s perception of themselves through the lens of
appearance and its impact on psychological well-being is considered. The results of the study
show that in mature age, appearance satisfaction is directly associated with subjective well-being
and psychological health.
