Abstract

This article analyzes the concept of psychological readiness of children of primary
school age for school education, its components and patterns of formation. The study covers the
development of cognitive processes, in particular, intellectual, motivational and volitional
readiness based on the theories of Jean Piaget and Lev Vygotsky. It also examines the
characteristics of memory and thinking in children of primary school age, the balance between
mechanical and logical memory, and the influence of neurophysiological development on
educational activity.
