Abstract

This article analyzes the scholarly contribution of historian and museologist
Robert V. Almeev to the study of the history of museums in Uzbekistan, museum theory, and the
socio-cultural development of museum institutions during the years of independence. Particular
attention is paid to his interpretation of museums not merely as repositories of exhibits, but as
institutions of historical memory, national identity, spiritual education, cultural communication, and regional development. The article highlights the significance of Almeev’s research for
contemporary museology, cultural heritage management, and museum education in Uzbekistan.
