Abstract

The article provides a comprehensive theoretical and practical analysis of a step-by-step
methodology for developing students’ information processing competence — perceptive,
analytical, evaluative, reconstructive, and applicative stages. Each stage is sequentially described
in terms of the processes of perceiving, analyzing, evaluating, transforming, and applying
information in real-life contexts. The proposed methodological approach activates students’
cognitive, metacognitive, and reflective activities, enhances critical thinking, creativity, digitalliteracy, and social responsibility, and shapes individuals capable of acting effectively,
consciously, and responsibly in the global information space while making innovative decisions.
