Abstract

The article examines the traditional judicial system that developed in the Kazakh
society in the 19th century on the path to integration into the common imperial space. The main
areas of activity and powers of the Kazakh People's Court, defined in the "Regulations on the
Governance of Turkestan" (1886), are studied. It was found that the implementation of changes
was ineffective and caused a wide discussion in the central and regional authorities
