Abstract

Annotation. This review examines key factors influencing the development of research skills among bachelor's students to improve research quality. It focuses on pedagogical strategies, mentorship, motivation, interdisciplinary collaboration, and institutional support. Evidence from international studies shows that scaffolded teaching methods and strong mentorship enhance students' confidence and competencies, while motivation and self-efficacy predict sustained engagement. Early research experiences and collaborative learning enrich problem-solving but face integration challenges. Institutional commitment, particularly curriculum embedding and resource provision, is essential though often limited by faculty time and uneven implementation. Recommendations for Uzbekistan include evidence-based pedagogy, stronger mentorship programs, and collaborative frameworks to better prepare students for postgraduate and professional pathways.
