This article analyzes the personal archive of Mirzo Somiya, who lived and
worked in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, and the epistolary legacy it contains from a
historical and source perspective. Specifically, it highlights and explains, using practical examples,
the traditions and rules of letter writing, based on the author's work "Sanati Makhzun." An analysis
of Somiya's letter reports provides important insights into the administrative system of the Bukhara
Emirate, the procedures for citizen appeals, and socioeconomic life. The prices, types of services,
and their costs reflected in documents are also assessed as an important source for studying the
economic situation of that period. The article demonstrates the importance of a comprehensive
study of historical sources
